Instant Pot Ham and Bean Soup

Instant Pot Ham and Bean Soup

This is the quickest and super flavorful soup you could ever prep for! I was in a huge rush yesterday, with only 20 minutes to get something in the instant pot before we had to leave for dance. I quickly took the FROZEN ham bone out of the freezer, through it in, and BAM it was done in a matter of 10 minutes!

I hope you enjoy this soup as much as we do! It’s just that tasty, and it truly tastes like it cooked all day. That ham broth is divine!

Cuisine Instant Pot, Recipes
Servings 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 large ham meat and bone or 4 ham hocks
  • 8 cups water
  • 2 cups dry white beans no pre-soaking
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 3-4 carrots chopped
  • 2-3 celery stalks chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. Better Than Bouillon chicken base
  • dash of pepper

Instructions

  • This is optional: but I like to use the Saute setting on the instant pot and saute the onion, carrots, and celery for 3 minutes.
  • Then, turn off the saute setting and add all the rest of the ingredients.
  • Set instant pot to Manual for 65 minutes.
  • After the timer goes off, let it set an additional 10 minutes or do a natural release.
  • Serve by itself, or with your favorite cornbread or biscuits.

I made this last night for dinner and it was so good!!! I never thought I’d be able to top my mom’s ham and bean soup but this recipe is THE BEST!! I was also pleasantly surprised about his good the taco pasta was. Many times, others recipes are bland. Now I’ve got to try all of yours! You are 2/2. THANK YOU!!
