Homemade Enchilada Sauce

This homemade enchilada sauce recipe is so easy to put together. There is no need for you to buy store bought sauce when you can whip this together in just a few minutes! You will never miss store bought sauce again! This recipe uses basic pantry ingredients, with no blending required. Just mix the ingredients together and heat on the stove. Easy peasy my friends!

How To Make Homemade Enchilada Sauce

  • Add veggie broth to a small saucepan.
  • Dump in a whole can of tomato paste.
  • Add cumin, chili powder, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper.
  • Heat on the stove for 20 minutes.
  • The longer it sits, the better it is!
  • Serve over your favorite enchiladas and enjoy!

It’s crazy how delicious it is with these simple seasonings. You can easily throw this together when you’re in a hurry. With less than 5 minutes of prep time, you’ll have delicious homemade enchilada sauce in no time. This is the easiest recipe for enchilada sauce I think you’ll ever make! It’s so good too!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups chicken or veggie broth
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 2 Tbsp. cumin powder
  • 2 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Whisk all the ingredients together in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • When sauce comes to a simmer, reduce heat to low and cook an additional 3-5 minutes.
